Authorities in Campbell County said Wednesday that their search for 33-year-old Adam Baird has “intensified” as crews conducted an air and ground search for the man who was last seen by family and friends on March 31st. Baird, described as a white male; about five feet, seven inches tall; weighing approximately 157 pounds with black hair and hazel-colored eyes, was reported missing by family members on April 3rd after his vehicle was found on Big Four Road in the Stinking Creek community.
Wednesday, searchers from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office’s search and rescue team and K-9 division and the Campbell County Rescue Squad were joined by deputies from the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and members of the LaFollette Rescue Squad as they searched on the ground in the Big Four area for any sign of Baird. From the air, the search was aided by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department’s Aviation Unit.
The search was halted at dark, and will likely resume today, not only in the Big Four area, but also what the CCSO described as “other areas of interest.”
