The final Associated Press Tennessee high school football polls for the 2016 regular season were released Monday and, once again, East Tennessee is well represented.
In the 6A poll, Maryville still holds the top spot after clinching their 16th straight Region title last week. Hardin Valley, which was the team the Rebels shut out to win that title, fell from #6 to #9.
The 5A top 10 includes seven teams from east Tennessee, led by Farragut at #4 and followed by Rhea County at #5, Oak Ridge at #6, Campbell County at #7, Ooltewah at #8, McMinn County at #9 and Morristown West at #10. Campbell County visits Ooltewah and McMinn County travels to Farragut in a pair of top-10 first-round playoff match-ups on Friday.
In Class 4A, Catholic remains #1 with Greeneville #2. Sullivan East is ranked 7th and will host 10th ranked Fulton on Friday in a first-round playoff game.
In Class 3A, Alcoa holds fast at #1 and CAK tumbled to #6 after losing to the Tornadoes last week.
In Class 2A, Austin-East ends the regular season at #3.
The 1A poll includes Greenback at #3 and Coalfield at #8.
