The Associated Press high school football polls for this week were released on Monday and once again, East Tennessee is well-represented across the board.
In Class 6A, Maryville remains #1 with Bradley Central representing East Tennessee as well at #4.
The Class 5A polls is dominated either by teams from our coverage area or those teams they could face in the postseason. Oak Ridge remains at #2, while Farragut moved up to #5 after their win at Campbell County last week. Rhea County slipped to #6, McMinn County—which hosts Oak Ridge Friday—is #7, with Campbell County falling three spots to #8 and Knox West hanging in the top 10 at #10.
In Class 4A, Catholic is still riding high at #1 with Greeneville holding fast at #3 and Stone Memorial at #6.
In Class 3A, the Alcoa Tornadoes remain atop the poll, while CAK—who visits Clinton Friday—is #3, with Elizabethton at #4.
Austin-East continues to climb the 2A poll, rising to #5 this week.
In Class 1A, Greenback is #3 with Coalfield at #7. Those two teams meet Thursday night in Greenback.
