CWTS: Nemechek gets physical, wins race

(MRN) John Hunter Nemechek got physical with rookie Cole Custer on the final lap Sunday afternoon at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, twice bumping the race leader before finally running Custer wide through the final corner and pinning him to the outside wall. Both trucks were locked together in the grassy strip between the barrier and the racetrack as they charged to the checkered flag – with Nemechek declared the winner in the season’s lone road-course race. It was a bitter end to the day for Custer, who started from the pole and led a race-high thirty-nine laps. Daniel Hemric rode home in third place with Matt Crafton and rookie Christopher Bell completing the top five. Points leader William Byron finished tenth.
