Friday’s CHS basketball games postponed until Saturday at 3:00 pm

UPDATE:  Clinton will host Gibbs Saturday February 13th beginning at 3 pm with the girls’ game and the boys’ game to follow at approximately 4:30 pm.  Catch LIVE coverage of both games in their entirety on the Fox & Farley Full Court Press on WYSH!

Tonight’s Gibbs at Clinton basketball doubleheader at Clinton has been canceled. Schools in both Anderson and Knox Counties were closed due to weather today and Knox has a strict “no-school, no-play” policy. Those games could be rescheduled for later this weekend but we will keep you posted as we learn more. The Anderson County at Central basketball games will also be postponed and will be made up Saturday in Fountain City. Complicating efforts to find make-up dates for these games is the fact that tonight was supposed to be the regular-season finales for most area teams, and with several District games on the schedule, would have finalized seeding for next week’s District tournaments. Be sure to check out our website and the WYSH Facebook page for updates as we get them.

Thursday night, the Campbell County girls crushed Gibbs 88-28, while the Gibbs boys won at Campbell County 72-61.

Elsewhere, the Rockwood girls knocked off Greenback 39-32 and the Rockwood boys completed the sweep by taking down Greenback 62-36.

The Oneida girls beat Wartburg 53-50 and Wartburg’s boys got by Oneida 72-58.

Union County’s girls handled Carter 62-34 while the Union County boys finished off the sweep with a 67-58 win over the Hornets.

Bearden’s girls knocked off Powell 53-36 but the Panther boys defeated the Bulldogs 80-59.
