Candlelight Christmas at Museum of Appalachia

On Saturday, December 12th the Museum of Appalachia will host A Candlelight Christmas from 5 pm until 8 pm. Stroll selected buildings in the Museum village, enjoy the Christmas story, sample sassafras tea and molasses cookies, sing carols in the Irwin Chapel, visit with Museum animals, and more. Children will be able to decorate an authentic Appalachian Christmas tree and make a take-home ornament, if they would like. Families will experience the beauty of an Appalachian Christmas during a simpler and more peaceful time. Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights or battery operated lanterns. Cost will be $10 for adults, $5 for youth (ages 13-18), and $3 for children (ages 5-12). For more information, contact the museum at 865-494-7680 or visit www.museumofappalachia.org.
